FXTW is a 1968 Piper Cherokee.

XTW had a new Lycoming O-320-D2A engine installed in 2018.

The Propeller has the Art Mattson propeller modification. You can check out the details here if you like. PROP PROPerties   The modification entails reshaping of the prop tip, which reduces the tip turbulence that causes drag. This makes the propeller more efficient. The tips are also tapered at an angle.

XTW also features a PowerFlow Exhaust.
The Power Flow unit is more efficient at scavenging exhaust gas from the cylinders, so the engine burns a more volatile mixture of fuel and air, rather than trying to re-burn a portion of the previous combustion cycle. The bottom line is more horsepower at all altitudes and a higher altitude for 75% cruise…” The engine breathes better so it’s more efficient, not unlike ‘header exhaust’ on a car = less back pressure means the piston can push the exhaust gas out then suck in clean air to compress and combust. One drawback is increased noise, which is why XTW is relatively noisy compared to other aircraft.

XTW has a new AV-30 Attitude Indicator, and Garmin GTX335 transponder, both new in 2020. The VORs are fully functional, with one unit slaved to the Garmin GPS400 to act as a course deviation indicator. This plane is nicely set up for IFR and Night operations.
